Our
Story

Get to Know Us

Welcome to Bayou Belle Steamboat Landing — where history flows as richly as the waters of Bayou Courtableau.

Established in the heart of Washington, Louisiana, our campground invites you to step into a story that began in 1720, when this town was a bustling trading post alive with cotton, cattle, sugar cane, and steamboats. Pirates like Jean Lafitte once roamed these waters, and Civil War hospitals still stand as reminders of resilience.

Today, Bayou Belle offers a new kind of adventure: camping beneath ancient oaks, exploring antique treasures in town, and discovering the wild beauty of the nearby hunting reserve. Whether you’re here for history, heritage, or the quiet charm of the bayou, you’ll find it all waiting at Bayou Belle Steamboat Landing.
